Trauma Therapist and Success Coach
My name is Jody Frey, and I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Colorado and Minnesota. I’ve been serving people for over 25 years in various settings: the military, business, and therapy.
For over seven years, I’ve focused on helping people resolve their trauma by combining narrative therapy techniques with proven success principles. I am EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) trained. EMDR is a highly effective therapeutic technique for resolving trauma, anxiety, depression, and other common mental health conditions.
Other Credentials
- Member of the AAMFT (American Association of Trauma Professionals)
- Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP)
My Approach to Therapy and Coaching
I believe that no single approach works for all people or in every situation. We will work together to understand and define your unique challenges. From there, we can focus on developing your goals and finding the best plan to help you reach them.
We may need to resolve past traumas, lessen your anxiety, or improve depressive symptoms. I will use a unique and interactive approach to help you find the peace you want and successfully move forward. We’ll work on better understanding the mind-body connection and how it impacts your daily life.
I also enjoy helping people advance their lives through success coaching. I’ll help you identify specific, achievable goals for growth in your personal or professional life. With renewed confidence and clarity, you can experience authentic, permanent change to help you reach desired outcomes.
My Therapy Style
My therapy style is a fun and challenging alternative to “traditional” talk therapy. I’d love to work with you if you…
- Prefer a peaceful, quiet environment
- Want to hike or work out while we work through some issues
- Seek an active, focused, confrontational, challenging, or other unique counseling approach
I’ll most likely approach things differently than your typical therapist or counselor. It’s something I often hear from my clients. I want to get deep into the root of your struggles or trauma and help you move beyond how those things define you.
Clients often enjoy my challenging and focused therapy and coaching style. They find comfort as we draw out the inner dialogue that may be negatively impacting their emotional state.
Here’s what’s led to my unique style of therapy:
- Six years serving in active duty as an Army Officer
- 10 years working in corporate leadership
- 15 years running my own successful business
- Seven years helping others as a trauma therapist and marriage and family counselor
Outside of Therapy
I love techie stuff. I also enjoy sports, playing video games, and working out.
